feather
Plots vectors as arrows that start from equally spaced points on a horizontal line.
Category: Graphics > 2-D and 3-D Plots
Syntax
feather(U, V)
Draws one arrow per element, with horizontal component U(k) and vertical component V(k), starting at x = k.
feather(Z)
For complex Z, uses real(Z) and imag(Z) as the components.
h = feather(___)
Also returns the graphics handles.
Description
A feather plot shows how a quantity with direction changes along a sequence, such as wind or the phase of a series of phasors. Every arrow has its tail on the baseline, so the arrows show direction and magnitude but not position.
Input arguments
U, V- Vectors of the same length with the horizontal and vertical components.
Z- Complex vector, one arrow per element.
Output arguments
h- Handles of the graphics objects created.
Example
Complex phasors
z = [1+1i, 2, 1.5-1i, -1+0.5i, 0.5i];
feather(z)
In the app, the figure is drawn below the code.
