hidden

Turns hidden-line removal on or off for mesh plots.

Category: Graphics > 2-D and 3-D Plots

Syntax

hidden on

Makes the mesh opaque, so lines behind the surface are hidden.

hidden off

Makes the mesh see-through, so every line shows.

hidden

Toggles the current state.

Description

A mesh drawn by mesh normally fills its faces with the background color, which hides whatever lies behind the surface. hidden off removes that fill so the full wireframe is visible, which helps when the back of the surface matters.

Input arguments

on, off
Command-style option; hidden('off') works too.

Example

See-through mesh

mesh(peaks(20))
hidden off

In MATLAB the lines behind the surface become visible.

Notes

In MatLivre the command is accepted but does not change the drawing.
