spparms

Sets or reads parameters of the sparse matrix routines.

Category: Mathematics > Sparse Matrices

Syntax

spparms('key', value)

Sets the tuning parameter key to value.

spparms('default')

Restores the default parameters.

Description

In MATLAB these parameters tune the algorithms behind sparse backslash, such as the ordering heuristics and the verbosity of diagnostics. They rarely need changing, and the defaults are the right choice for almost all uses.

Input arguments

'key'
Name of a parameter, such as 'spumoni' (diagnostic output level) or 'tight'.
value
New numeric value.

Example

Setting and restoring

spparms('spumoni', 0)
spparms('default')
disp('sparse parameters reset')
Output
sparse parameters reset
