stem3
Plots three-dimensional discrete data as stems from the xy-plane.
Category: Graphics > 2-D and 3-D Plots
Syntax
stem3(Z)
Draws a stem for each element of the matrix Z.
stem3(X, Y, Z)
Draws stems at the points (X, Y) with heights Z.
stem3(___, 'filled')
Fills the markers.
h = stem3(___)
Also returns the handle.
Description
Each stem starts at height zero and ends in a marker at (x, y, z). It is the 3-D counterpart of stem and works well for showing a helix, a two-dimensional impulse response or scattered samples above a plane.
Input arguments
X, Y, Z- Arrays of the same size with the coordinates of the stem tops.
Output arguments
h- Handle of the stem object.
Example
A helix of stems
t = linspace(0, 2*pi, 12);
stem3(cos(t), sin(t), t)
