besselk
Modified Bessel function of the second kind.
Category: Mathematics > Elementary Math
Syntax
K = besselk(nu, Z)
Returns K_nu(Z).
K = besselk(nu, Z, 1)
Returns the function scaled by exp(Z).
Description
K_nu is the second solution of the modified Bessel equation, the one that decays exponentially as z grows and blows up at the origin. It complements I_nu, which grows. Decaying kernels of this type appear in heat conduction and in the screened Coulomb potential.
Input arguments
nu- Order (real).
Z- Real or complex argument.
Output arguments
K- Values of the function.
Example
Decaying solution
besselk(0, 1)
besselk(1, [1 2])
Output
