derivedUnits
Derived units of a system of units.
Category: Symbolic Computations in MATLAB > Units of Measurement
Syntax
d = derivedUnits(system)
Returns the named derived units of the system.
Description
Derived units have their own names but are defined by products of base units: N is kg*m/s^2, J is N*m and Pa is N/m^2. The SI list includes F, C, S, H, V, J, N, W, Pa, Hz and others. Use rewrite to expand one of them.
Input arguments
system- Name of a unit system, such as
'SI'.
Output arguments
d- Row vector of derived units.
Example
Derived units of the SI
derivedUnits('SI')
Output
ans =
[[F], [C], [S], [H], [V], [J], [N], [lx], [lm], [Wb], [W], [Pa], [Ohm], [T], [Gy], [Bq], [Sv], [Hz], [kat], [rad], [sr], [Celsius]]
Notes
In MatLivre only 'SI' can be queried.
