sinint
Sine integral Si(x).
Category: Mathematics > Mathematical Functions
Syntax
Y = sinint(x)
Evaluates sinint at x.
Description
The sine integral is Si(x) = integral(sin(t)/t, t, 0, x). It is an odd function that tends to pi/2 as x goes to infinity, oscillating around that value before settling, which is the overshoot seen in the Gibbs phenomenon.
Input arguments
x- Real or complex scalar or array.
Output arguments
Y- Values of the function, with the size of
x.
Example
Values and limits
sinint([0 1 10 Inf])
sinint(-1)
Output
ans = 1×4
0 0.9461 1.6583 1.5708
ans = -0.9461
