sky

Colormap of sky blues, from a pale tone to a deep blue.

Category: Graphics > Formatting and Annotation

Syntax

map = sky

Returns the colormap with the default number of rows.

map = sky(m)

Returns m colors.

Description

Sky is one of the newer colormaps that come with the graphics system. It runs from a nearly white blue at the first row to the saturated blue of the default line color at the last, so low values look pale and high values look strong. Like other sequential maps it is suited to data with a single direction of increase.

Input arguments

m
Number of colors, a nonnegative integer.

Output arguments

map
m-by-3 matrix of RGB values between 0 and 1.
