turbo

Rainbow-style colormap with more even lightness than jet.

Category: Graphics > Formatting and Annotation

Syntax

map = turbo

Returns a turbo colormap with the default number of rows.

map = turbo(m)

Returns m colors.

Description

Turbo goes from dark purple through blue, green, yellow and orange to dark red. It keeps the strong contrast that makes rainbow maps attractive for showing detail, but its lightness changes smoothly, avoiding the bright bands of jet that can look like features in the data.

Input arguments

Output arguments

m-by-3 matrix of RGB values between 0 and 1.
