cosh
Hyperbolic cosine of each element.
Category: Mathematics > Elementary Math
Syntax
Y = cosh(X)
Returns the hyperbolic cosine of each element of X.
Description
cosh(x) = (exp(x) + exp(-x)) / 2. It is even, equals 1 at 0, and is never smaller than 1 for real input. The graph of cosh is the catenary, the shape of a hanging chain.
Input arguments
X- Numeric array of any size. Complex values are allowed.
Output arguments
Y- Array of the same size as
X.
Example
Hyperbolic cosine
cosh([0 1 -1 2])
Output
