acosh
Inverse hyperbolic cosine of each element, with the result in radians.
Category: Mathematics > Elementary Math
Syntax
Y = acosh(X)
Returns the result for each element of X.
Description
acosh works element by element. For real input X >= 1 the result is real and non-negative. For X < 1 the result is complex. It satisfies acosh(x) = log(x + sqrt(x^2 - 1)).
Input arguments
X- Numeric array of any size. Complex values are allowed.
Output arguments
Y- Array of the same size as
X, in radians.
Example
Inverse hyperbolic cosine
acosh([1 2 10])
acosh(0.5)
Output
ans = 1×3
0 1.3170 2.9932
ans = 0.0000 + 1.0472i
