coshint
Hyperbolic cosine integral.
Category: Mathematics > Mathematical Functions
Syntax
Y = coshint(X)
Evaluates Chi(x) for each element of X.
Description
The function is defined by Chi(x) = eulergamma + log(x) + integral from 0 to x of (cosh(t) - 1)/t dt. It is related to the ordinary cosine integral by cosint(i*x) = coshint(x) + i*pi/2 for positive x.
Input arguments
X- Numeric or symbolic array.
Output arguments
Y- Array of the same size: double for numeric input, a symbolic call for symbolic input.
Example
Numeric values
coshint(1)
coshint([0.5 2 5])
Output
ans = 0.8379
ans = 1×3
-0.0528 2.4527 20.0921
Notes
Symbolic input such as coshint(sym(1)) is kept as an unevaluated call; vpa does not evaluate it in MatLivre.
