Syntax

Y = coth(X)

Description

coth(x) is 1 ./ tanh(x). It is odd, has a pole at 0, and approaches 1 as x grows and -1 as x becomes very negative. coth(1) is about 1.3130.

Input arguments

X

Numeric array of any size. Complex values are allowed.

Output arguments

Y

Array of the same size as X.

coth([1 -1 5])

ans = 1×3

    1.3130   -1.3130    1.0001
