ifourier
Inverse Fourier transform.
Category: Mathematics > Calculus
Syntax
f = ifourier(F, w, t)
Returns the function of t whose Fourier transform is F(w).
Description
It undoes fourier under the same convention, so ifourier(fourier(f)) returns f for functions where both integrals exist. For example exp(-w^2) goes back to exp(-t^2/4)/(2*pi^(1/2)).
Input arguments
F- Symbolic expression in
w. w- Frequency variable.
t- Variable of the result.
Output arguments
f- Symbolic expression in
t.
Example
Inverse of a Gaussian
syms w t
ifourier(exp(-w^2), w, t)
Output
ans = exp(-t^2/4)/(2*pi^(1/2))
