ilaplace
Inverse Laplace transform.
Category: Mathematics > Calculus
Syntax
f = ilaplace(F, s, t)
Returns the function of t whose Laplace transform is F(s).
Description
Typical inputs are rational functions of s, which are split into simple terms, each with a known inverse: 1/(s+1) gives exp(-t) and 1/(s^2+1) gives sin(t). This is the last step in solving a linear ODE with the Laplace method.
Input arguments
F- Symbolic expression in
s. s- Transform variable.
t- Time variable of the result.
Output arguments
f- Symbolic expression in
t.
Example
Back to time
syms s t
ilaplace(1/(s + 1), s, t)
ilaplace(1/(s^2 + 1), s, t)
Output
ans = exp(-t)
ans = sin(t)
