acsc

Inverse cosecant of each element, with the result in radians.

Category: Mathematics > Elementary Math

Syntax

Y = acsc(X)

Returns the inverse cosecant of each element of X.

Description

acsc(X) equals asin(1 ./ X). For real abs(X) >= 1 the result is a real angle in [-pi/2, pi/2], with acsc(1) equal to pi/2. Values with abs(X) < 1 give complex results, because no real angle has a cosecant of that size.

Input arguments

X
Numeric array of any size.

Output arguments

Y
Array of the same size as X, in radians. It is complex where abs(X) < 1.

Example

Inverse cosecant

acsc([1 2 -2])
Output
ans = 1×3

    1.5708    0.5236   -0.5236
