Inverse hyperbolic secant of each element.

Syntax

Y = asech(X)

Returns the inverse hyperbolic secant of each element of X.

Description

asech(X) equals acosh(1 ./ X). On (0, 1] it falls from Inf (at 0) to 0 (at 1). asech(0.5) is about 1.3170. Values outside (0, 1] give complex results.

Input arguments

X: Numeric array of any size.

Output arguments

Y: Array of the same size as X. It is real for X in (0, 1] and complex elsewhere.

Inverse hyperbolic secant

asech([1 0.5 0.1])

Output

ans = 1×3

         0    1.3170    2.9932
